All my life I considered myself fairly democratic. It was not until high school that I really started to re-evaluate my position. America was not where I thought it should be. Drowning in debt, we have made a couple half-hearted attempts are restoring peace but continue to cause conflict in other areas. Syria continues to war, and we certainly did not help with that. Conflicts in Ukraine and Iran were vastly mishandled, all the while causing increasing anger with Russia, leading us into another possible Cold War. Back home, the taxes soar with no means of help in the future while the average American is struggling to make it.
With 2016 rolling around the corner I really had to consider who I was to back. Hillary is backed up in criminal allegations. Bernie Sanders is a socialist and my family escaped that for a reason from eastern Europe so he's out too. Left with only the Republicans I was struck by the audacity on one character. Here was one candidate who wasn't run by donations from corporations. A man who spoke his opinion without worrying about votes because he truly believed in it. Surprisingly, that man is Donald Trump. Putting aside some of his more radical, excessive traits, his economic and foreign policies are solid. There's a reason he is a self-made billionaire. He is one of the only candidates that can seemingly bring out true change in our government for he truly cares for the American people. This is why I have decided to vote Trump, because I want positive change and I believe he will do that and not back down off what he says, as Obama, Clinton, Bush, and so many others have.
